Which website is best for a travel photo book?

Look at three things: a cover that looks like a real book, thick paper and a solid binding, then an editor that lets you write captions. At Innocence, more than 35 covers are drawn for travel and holidays, you write the destination and the year on them, and each book is printed in France. Customers rate us Excellent on Trustpilot.

How many photos for a travel photo book?

Count on two to three photos per page: 60 to 100 photos for a week (24 to 40 pages), 100 to 200 for two or three weeks (40 to 80 pages), and up to 160 pages for a long journey. Keep one or two full-page photos per day for the best views.

How do you organise a travel photo album?

Day by day for a holiday in one place, stop by stop for a road trip (one chapter per town, opened with a map or the name of the place), by theme for a long journey: landscapes, faces, meals. Add the date and the place under the photos.

Photo book or travel journal: which one?

A travel journal is filled in by hand during the trip; a photo book is made afterwards, with your photos and a few printed lines. Many travellers do both: notes in a notebook on the road, then the best ones copied into the photo book when they get home.

Can you make a travel book with phone photos?

Yes. Recent phone photos are sharp enough for a full page. Use the original files, not the ones sent through messaging apps, which are compressed. The editor warns you if a photo is too small for the size you chose.

Which format for landscape photos?

A layflat photo book opens completely flat: a landscape can run across two full pages without disappearing into the fold. For a book with many portraits and street scenes, a softcover or hardcover is enough.

Can you write the destination and the year on the cover?

Yes. Our travel covers have a title you change: the country, the city, the year or a few words. Ibiza, Phuket or Bonifacio on the examples become your own trip.

How much does a travel photo book cost?

From €32 for a softcover, €38 for a hardcover and €55 for a layflat book. The price then depends on the number of pages.

One book per trip or one book for the year?

One book per trip if the trip is big enough to fill 24 pages: the spines then line up on the shelf, trip after trip. For several short breaks, a single year photo book brings them together.

How long does it take to receive my album?

An order placed before 10:50 pm is processed the next day. Production takes 3 working days, then delivery takes 48 hours, or 24 hours with express delivery. We do not ship at weekends or on public holidays.

Where are the albums made?

All Innocence albums are printed in France on FSC-certified paper, then checked by hand before they are shipped.

What if my album has a printing defect?

Send a photo of the defect and your order number to support@innocence-editions.com and we will reprint your album.

How to make a travel photo book

Sort your photos as soon as you get home, while the memories are fresh: keep the best of each day, two or three per page on average. Choose a cover and write the destination and the year on it, then let our editor lay out the photos in order. Add a few lines per page: the place, the date, the name of that restaurant you never want to forget. Each book is printed in France on FSC-certified paper, checked by hand and delivered in a cotton pouch.

Day by day, stop by stop or by theme

For a holiday in one place, day by day works best. For a road trip or a tour, go stop by stop and open each chapter with a map or the name of the town. For a long journey, group by theme: landscapes, faces, food, the place you slept. Wide landscapes deserve a layflat photo book, which opens without a fold in the middle.

Holidays, road trips and honeymoons

A summer holiday with the children often fits in a softcover of 40 to 60 pages. A road trip or a world tour needs a hardcover, up to 160 pages. For a honeymoon, see our wedding photo albums; to tell the whole year, our year photo books; and for family holidays told year after year, our family photo albums. To keep a few photos close at hand, our photo prints are printed in the same workshop.
