A gift you put together with others
The best birthday photo books are made by several people. Ask parents, brothers and sisters and old friends to send their photos a few weeks ahead, scan the old prints with your phone, and collect one sentence from each guest. At Innocence, you choose a cover and write their name and age on it; our editor lays out the photos, then you add dates, places and messages. Each album is printed in France on FSC-certified paper and checked by hand before it ships.
What to include, age by age
For an 18th, one photo per year from baby to now, then the friends, the holidays and a letter from the parents. For a 30th, the years of studies, first jobs and trips. For a 40th or 50th, one double page per decade works well: it shows the whole road in a few pages. For a 60th or 70th, scan the old family photos and end with the children and grandchildren. Birthdays of younger children have their own page: see our kids photo albums.
A memory book for a retirement
For a colleague who is leaving, gather the team photos, the business trips and the leaving drinks, then ask everyone for a few words: handwritten and photographed, or typed straight into the album. A classic hardcover album gives it the weight of a real book. To tell a single year, see our year photo books; for the family story, our family photo albums; and for more ideas, our gift ideas.
